PLC is a programmable logic controller, currently mainly divided into two categories: integrated PLC and extended PLC. Whether it is integral or expandable, their components are actually just a few, including:

  1. The central processing unit, usually referred to as the CPU, is the brain of the entire PLC, and the operation of control programs requires its calculations and processing.
  2. RAM and ROM are used to store system programs, application programs, logical variables, and other information. Our mobile phones and computers also have similar structures, such as RAM being the memory and ROM being the hard drive.
  3. Input/output system, abbreviated as IO. The collection of PLC information and the output of instructions rely on IO to achieve. The more IO points and diverse types integrated on a PLC, the stronger the performance of the device.
