Distributed Control System (DCS) is a specially designed automatic control system consisting of control elements geographically dispersed throughout a factory or control area.
It is different from a centralized control system, where a single controller in a centralized location handles control, but in a distributed control system (abbreviated as documents), each processing element, machine, or machine group is processed by a dedicated controller. A Distributed Control System (DCS) is composed of a large number of local controllers located in the factory control area, which are connected through a high-speed communication network.
